SUP renewal can only be purchased on software packages with an existing Software Upgrade Plan (SUP) in place. Software without SUP need to be upgraded in order to purchase SUP. Call our office for details and trade in value of your existing package.
A Milestone Software Upgrade Plan (SUP) entitles you to free
access to product upgrades. The SUP is a contract that runs 1 or more
years at a time and is purchased along with a new product, or if you
purchase a product upgrade.
An SUP protects your investment and gives you control over the total cost of ownership.
Two strong arguments for choosing a SUP with your product:
Stay on the technological forefront.
Get
free access to all interim and major releases, patches and device packs
within your product category. Without a SUP, you pay 70%* of the
recommended retail price of your existing product when upgrading.
Lower the cost of growing your installation.
We will refund the full purchase price* of
your existing product when you upgrade to a higher-level product
(trade-in). You only pay the difference!* Without a PMA, we refund 30%*
of the recommended retail price of your existing product when purchasing
a higher-level product.
Plan ahead - save money
The
price of a SUP is approximately 18% of the recommended retail price of
the XProtect products. By selecting one of the long-term SUPs (2-5 year SUPs) you can make considerable savings, and therefore optimize your
total cost of ownership even more.
How does a SUP work?
When
buying an XProtect™ product license, you can choose to buy a SUP at the
same time. Under the SUP, all upgrades are completely free of charge
for 1-5 years depending on purchase. The software upgrades are delivered electronically
throughout the year.
How long does it last?
You
buy a SUP for up to 5 years at a time. SUP can also be purchased on a
daily basis to allow the SUP period to run until a specific date. This
is particularly useful if the SUP renewals are to be aligned with
calendar or fiscal years, or if you want a coherent SUP coverage on an
extended system where additional system components have been purchased
in addition to the original system. Before the SUP expires, your
Milestone partner will automatically receive e-mails to remind you about
renewal.
How is it purchased?With new purchase: The SUP is only available as part of a new product purchase and not as an
add-on to a product that has been purchased previously.
When Upgrading: A
customer can trade in a Milestone product (previously purchased without
a PMA) at a value of 30%* of its Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
(MSRP), to upgrade to a newer version of XProtect™ and purchase a SUP at
that time. It also makes an upgrade to later releases of the software
(more camera licenses) less expensive. When upgrading, the SUP gives you
a 100%* return on your original investment: the upgrade discount equals
the current MSRP + 1-year SUP cost.
